Regular carpet cleaning will help your carpets last longer. Dirt and stains in your carpet are not only unsightly but also unhygienic as dust and bacteria are hidden away in the deep fibres. Carpet cleaning will give your floor a new lease of life at just a fraction of the cost of replacing it. A professional carpet cleaning service will leave your home or commercial space clean and fresh. It will also improve the indoor air quality by removing pollen and allergens.
Upholstery cleaning is required for many reasons. It extends the life of your furniture while sanitising the fabric and making them more hygienic. However, upholstery fabric is much more sensitive to dirt, stains and even cleaning products. The majority of upholstered furniture will require stain treatment before the cleaning process begins to ensure it is fully lifted out. We use gentle cleaning processes to prevent any damage to the fabric and finish it off with a protective treatment.
Your mattress is essential to a good night's sleep. So it is massively important that you keep your mattress maintained and have it regularly cleaned. Your bedding and mattress is a breeding ground for bacteria, dust moulds and fungi. Dead skin cells build up day after day and the warm sweaty conditions are perfect for bacteria to thrive in. Regularly mattress cleaning will not only make your mattress more hygienic but will also allow you and your family to get a better sleep.
Moving home is probably one of the most stressful things you can do. The last thing you want to worry about it is if the house or apartment is clean enough for its new tenants. Even more pressing, you may not get your security deposit back if you leave the house in an unclean state. Our end of lease cleaning service offers a deep and thorough clean and we will ensure that the entire building is spotless before you hand the keys back to the landlord.
Howley Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning prices are based on average 3/4 bedroom semi-detached house. Reasonable price adjustments will be made for substantially larger areas. Step 1: Pre Inspection: A pre-inspection is carried out noting how the carpet/upholstery is secured, whether there is any wear & tear, damage or stains. This will be discussed with you prior to work commencing.
Step 2: Fibre Identification: A vital step in any cleaning process is to identify the fibre or material to be cleaned. There are numerous types of carpet and upholstery construction methods and materials. The identification of each will inform as to which cleaning method or cleaning product to use.
Step 3: PH Test: Determining whether stains or soiling is alkaline or acidic in nature is vital in determining which cleaning product to use. It is always the goal to leave carpets or upholstery as close to a neutral PH of 7.0 as is possible. This will give the best results and prevent easy resoiling.
Step 4: Dye Test: The dyes used in the manufacturing of carpets or upholstery can on occasion "bleed" when cleaned. A dye run test will be carried out prior to cleaning to ensure that the dyes used are stable.
Step 5: Dry Vacuuming: A professional twin motor vacuum is used to clean all carpets or upholstery prior to cleaning. This dramatically improves the overall result.
Step 6: Pre-Spray: A pre-spray is used to clean and break up all soils. The type of pre-spray used will be determined by the steps already carried out.
Step 7: Agitation: A C.R.B. machine is used to work the pre-spray into the base of the carpet, or hand agitation with a mitten in the case of upholstery. This in turn loosens all soiling ready for extraction.
Step 8: Hot Water Extraction: All pre-spray and soiling is then removed by use of a top spec hot water extraction machine. The ability to remove the soiling with hot water is vital to obtaining the best cleaning results.
Step 9: Pile Dressing: Various brushes are used to redress the carpet or upholstery pile so that a uniform result is achieved.
Step 10: Powerful air movers are used dry carpets/ upholstery as much as possible. This will reduce drying time by several hours. It is important to note that carpets with deeper piles and upholstery will take several hours to dry, central heating will be required to speed up the drying process.
