Carpet Cleaning

Upholstery Cleaning
Upholstery cleaning is required for many reasons. It extends the life of your furniture while sanitising the fabric and making them more hygienic. However, upholstery fabric is much more sensitive to dirt, stains and even cleaning products. The majority of upholstered furniture will require stain treatment before the cleaning process begins to ensure it is fully lifted out. We use gentle cleaning processes to prevent any damage to the fabric and finish it off with a protective treatment.

Our Cleaning Process
Step 1: Pre Inspection: A pre-inspection is carried out noting how the carpet/upholstery is secured, whether there is any wear & tear, damage or stains. This will be discussed with you prior to work commencing.
Step 2: Fibre Identification: A vital step in any cleaning process is to identify the fibre or material to be cleaned. There are numerous types of carpet and upholstery construction methods and materials. The identification of each will inform as to which cleaning method or cleaning product to use.
Step 3: PH Test: Determining whether stains or soiling is alkaline or acidic in nature is vital in determining which cleaning product to use. It is always the goal to leave carpets or upholstery as close to a neutral PH of 7.0 as is possible. This will give the best results and prevent easy resoiling.
Step 4: Dye Test: The dyes used in the manufacturing of carpets or upholstery can on occasion "bleed" when cleaned. A dye run test will be carried out prior to cleaning to ensure that the dyes used are stable.
Step 5: Pre-Spray: A pre-spray is used to clean and break up all soils. The type of pre-spray used will be determined by the steps already carried out.
Step 6: Agitation: A C.R.B. machine is used to work the pre-spray into the base of the carpet, or hand agitation with a mitten in the case of upholstery. This in turn loosens all soiling ready for extraction.
Step 7: Hot Water Extraction: All pre-spray and soiling is then removed by use of a top spec hot water extraction machine. The ability to remove the soiling with hot water is vital to obtaining the best cleaning results.
